Museum on TV
A popular museum will appear in a new television drama.
Tring's famous Natural History Museum, on Akeman Street, will feature in the BBC Two six-part series Museum of Life.
The documentary will take a look at what goes on behind the scenes of the museums in Tring and South Kensington, London.
Shots from the museum and around the world will be used to investigate the scientific work carried out in the tourist attractions.
Highlights of the show filmed at Tring will include curator Dr Joanne Cooper revealing the inspiration behind Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection.
Fellow curator Douglas Russell will also be in Tring telling viewers how historic egg collections have helped safeguard the future of an iconic British bird.
Manager Paul Kitching will star in a part of the programme which profiles the elephant seal - one of the museum's largest specimens.
Mr Kitching said: "Don't miss this series as it is a great opportunity to find out what really happens at the museum.
"Viewers may be familiar with the public galleries, but behind the scenes the research collections may be less well-known.
"You can find out how these collections are used by scientists today."
The show will be presented by Jimmy Doherty, presenter of show Jimmy's Farm, and will start on Thursday (March 18) at 8pm.
