Young families have been reaping the rewards of spending quality time together thanks to a new course.

During the summer break families with youngsters aged five to eight have attended eight sessions, each lasting 21/2 hours.

Activities included sing alongs, playing games, learning about nutrition and meeting with local PCSOs.

It is the first programme of its kind in Dacorum and is part of the award-winning Family and Schools Together scheme run by Save the Children.

Partnership development officer for Dacorum schools, Mike Short, said: “One of the main aims of the programme is that it is sustainable so the parents are encouraged to continue it afterwards.”

Funding has been secured for more courses, email mshort@hobbshillwood.herts.sch.uk
