No horse in school dinners

A reassurance message has been sent out to mums and dads in light of the horse meat scandal.

Councillor Frances Button, who oversees education and skills at County Hall, said: “I can assure pupils and parents that Hertfordshire Catering, which supplies meals to 412 primary schools and 42 secondary schools and academies in the county, does not source any products from the suppliers named (to date) and none of their products have been implicated in any of these findings. All its meat products are fully traceable and meet all UK standards in meat production.”

Headteachers have been asked to pass the information on to parents but anyone who still has concerns can contact the catering company on 01707 292500.
