Pair to host race night

Charity: A husband and wife duo will host their first fundraising event since becoming official volunteers with a national charity.

Susan and Robin Bevan, of Sunnyhill Road, Hemel Hempstead, have launched a new group called Dacorum Friends of Cancer Research UK to bring in cash for the cause.

They are holding a ferret race night and disco on Saturday, February 11 at Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club in Vauxhall Road from 7.30pm. It will be in memory of Susan’s brother Nigel Boale who died from bowel cancer, aged just 51, in August last year.

The cash raised will go to the charity’s Bobby Moore Fund, which funds research into the cancer that also claimed the life of the famous footballer.

To buy tickets or to join the charity group contact Susan on 07535 922288.
