Pair due in court over Billy murder case

TWO men accused of affray in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Billy Dove will appear at St Albans Magistrates Court on Friday.

The case involving Carl Williams, 21, of Barnacres Road, Hemel Hempstead, and Ben Sears, 18, of Belsize Road, Hemel Hempstead, is expected to be sent to crown court for trial.

Billy was stabbed to death in Hemel Hempstead’s Market Square in the early hours of Sunday, November 6.

Two others – Charlie Samson, 18. and a 17-year-old who cannot be identified for legal reasons, will face trial accused of his murder at St Albans Crown Court from May 8.

A special memorial service was held for Billy at St Albans Abbey on Thursday, on what would have been his 22nd birthday.
