THE pals of 13-year-old Zoe Miller, who was discovered dead earlier this year, took part in a fun run to raise cash for a charity the youngster backed.

Led by her best friend Emma Styleman, they took part in a two-mile run starting and finishing at Zoe’s family home in George Street, Berkhamsted.

Her mum Jane Miller said: “The whole event was a great success and we estimate Emma raised almost £1,000, which is just amazing. Zoe would have been so proud of her.”

The money raised will be devoted to the fight to stop female genital cutting through the charity Orchid Project.

The family have already raised more than £16,000 in Zoe’s name.

The teenager met senior politicians during an event at the House of Commons to help stop the practice only a few weeks before her death in April, when she was found dead on a railway line near her home.

A total of 24 people took part in last Saturday’s run in her honour, including 12 of Zoe’s classmates from Abbot’s Hill School in Hemel Hempstead, along with her sister Sam and new puppy Molly.
