Party to raise thousands

A party aimed to raise more than £100,000 in one night is being planned by a hospice.

The Mardi Gras-themed, 11-mile Midnight Walk in Amersham will generate funds for Tring-based Iain Rennie Hospice at Home (IRHH) on June 19.

Last year's event saw 750 walkers in Goodnight Walk t-shirts raise more than 100,000.

The charity – in its 25th year - hopes to smash the record this year as 1,000 women take part and 100 places are also available for men.

Community fundraising manager Ruth Barber said: "Last year was so much fun and the atmosphere was electric.

"This year we are introducing a theme for the evening, Mardi Gras, so grab your grass skirts, garlands, beads, glitz and glamour and come and

join the fun.

"There will be a prize for the best-dressed walker, so come on - do your worst."

The event costs 15 to enter, to include a Goodnight Walk t-shirt, snacks along the route, medal on completion and breakfast.

To register, call Fundraising on 01442 890222 or email gnwalk@irhh.org
