Police are hunting thieves who used stolen bank cards after snatching them from a car.

The criminals smashed a window of a car in Northfield Road, Tring, between 4pm and 5.15pm yesterday.

Tring Sergeant Adele Hopkin said: “They have attempted to use the cards at a local ATM.”

She said there have been four more thefts from vehicles since April 1 than for the same period last year.

Overnight on Tuesday, June 26, thieves targeted vehicles in Miswell Lane, Buckingham Road and Windmill Way in Tring, stealing a laptop, tools and medical equipment.

Sgt Hopkin urged motorists not to display valuables in their cars.
