Police set to put the brakes on bike crime

Officers from the Hemel Hempstead Safer Neighbourhood Team will be out in force in the town centre to raise awareness of safe cycling and crime prevention.

A Cycle Safe event will be held on Wednesday, November 14 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, giving people the opportunity to have their bicycles marked for free.

Security marking involves putting a postcode and house number on the bike by engraving and protecting it with a lacquer varnish.

Alternatively, bikes can be marked using a UV pen.
