Press-ups and dance for Billy

A zumbathon and press-ups contest will be held at Hemel Hempstead Town Football Club on Sunday to remember Billy Dove.

Tickets are £5 each and all money raised will go to Billy’s Wish, a charity set up in the 21-year-old’s memory to help prevent other similar deaths.

Billy was stabbed and killed in Hemel Hempstead town centre’s Market Square in November 2011.

Cash from Sunday’s event will be passed on to the street pastors – Christians who will patrol the area to help the needy, and tipsy, on Friday and Saturday nights from March 1.

Billy’s Wish trustee Jan Maddern said: “If they had been there in 2011, it could have been a different story and Billy might not have been killed.”

To book tickets for Sunday’s event, phone organiser Esther Shiells on 07714 995804.
