Probe into recycling centre
Contractors at a recycling centre are being investigated after complaints about their attitude.
Staff at Hemel Hempstead's refuse facility at Eastman Way have been accused of intimidating people and 'giving dirty looks'.
The issue was raised at a meeting of Dacorum Borough Council's environment overview and scrutiny committee on Tuesday, March 9.
Cllr Graham Sutton said: "There seems to be a culture of intimidating people.
"It's happened to me and I understand it's happened to lots of other residents.
"I know people have to be told which bins to use and where to put what, but that place has a cast of millions who give dirty looks and stand around when they should be helping people."
Dacorum's environmental services boss, Brian Scott, agreed to report the claims to Herts County Council.
He said: "It's an issue that has been raised on a number of occasions, not just at this site but at other centres too."
Spokesman Jo Brown said six complaints had been received since October last year, three of which were related to attitude.
"We are addressing this with our contractors," she said.
