Sax appeal at show

Britain's Got Talent finalist, saxophonist Julian Smith, will be the star judge at a showcase in Hemel Hempstead.

Julian finished third to dance group Diversity and singer Susan Boyle in the 2009 TV extravaganza and talent show organisers are delighted to scoop the brilliant player for their event on Saturday, April 10.

Recording artist Charlotte Roel, the choir director at Urban Precinct, said: "I'm over the moon. It's going to be such an inspiration. Julian will be performing and be a co-judge."

Unique UK is a search for 100 singers, musicians and rappers to form Urban Choir, which will record a CD of inspirational music and perform live nationally and internationally to, it is hoped, rival the London Community Gospel Choir.

"It's going to be a very positive atmosphere," Ms Roel added. "I can assure people of that. We want people to put aside that initial barrier and show how much talent they have to join the choir."

Urban Precinct is based at South Hill Centre, off Cemetery Hill, in Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead, where a talent search will be held from midday on Saturday, April 10. There will be an evening results show and concert. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Interested performers should call 07732 839213, or email info@urbanprecinct.com. There is an audition fee of 10 prior to April 5 or 15 on the door. Evening tickets are available, priced 7.50 for adults, under 16s 5. Family tickets 20. Visit www.urbanprecinct.com or www.facebook.com/urbanprecinct
