A room at Adeyfield Community Centre has been named after a dedicated worker who gave 45 years’ service.

Maureen Rolph passed away in September, aged 78, and centre bosses decided that naming a room after her would be a fitting tribute.

“She wasn’t just a colleague, she was a close personal friend,” said community centre manager Scott Boyer. “I was devastated when she passed away.”

Maureen was the centre’s longest-serving employee and Scott said: “She wouldn’t even go on holiday because she was worried about how the centre would get on without her there.”

“She was a great friend and you would not find anyone with a bad word to say about her.

“After the funeral, we held her wake at the centre which was really fitting.”
