Spirit of Tring put on hold until September

DISAPPOINTING ticket sales means the musical extravaganza that is the Spirit of Tring has been postponed by almost four months.

Organisers behind the open air event - incentives firm Grass Roots - made the decision after the event, scheduled for the Diamond Jubilee bank holiday weekend, failed to pull in enough punters.

The chairman of the Tring-based firm David Evans has put the lack of ticket sales down to the bumper number of events happening in Tring and across Dacorum in June to mark the Queen’s 60 year reign.

Instead they hope to pull in the crowds for the two-evening event, which costs more than £150,000 to stage, on September 21 and 22.

The first night will see West End stars perfom British pop masterpieces backed by a full orchestra and inspired by the Queen’s reign, while the second night is billed as a magical evening of proms classics.

>Anyone who had bought tickets for the June date, but cannot attend in September will be able to claim a full refund. To find out how visit
