Tring man arrested after knifepoint robbery

A MAN has been arrested after thousands of pounds was stolen during a knifepoint robbery at a convenience store.

The 38-year-old from Tring was taken into custody by police on Friday, after The Old Stables in Miswell Lane, Tring, was targeted at around 8.30am on Saturday, June 2.

Herts Police spokesman Olivia Finucane said: “A man has entered the shop and grabbed someone at the rear of the neck and threatened to stab him with a knife.

“He made him open a cash machine and give him money before making off.”

Around £3,000 was stolen from the store.

The man has been police bailed until Tuesday, July 17.
