Tring schoolgirl one step closer to victory on The X Factor

A schoolgirl has made it to the live finals of the prime time television talent show The X Factor.

Gabriella Henderson, 16, who went to Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, was chosenen by Tulisa Contostavlos as one of three female singers to go through.

The singer and former N Dubz rap group member gave her the news on the Caribbean island St Lucia during the programme, which was broadcast on Sunday.

Gabriella Henderson, 16, said: “I can’t believe it. It feels incredible. I feel on top of the world.”

Tulisa chose three out of the six female singers in her category to go through to the next stage of the competition, with the help of rapper Tinie Tempah.

Tulisa said Gabriella has ‘all the things it takes to be a pop star’, despite performance nerves.

She said to her: “I think you are an absolute star and I am taking you through to the live shows. You deserve it, you really do.”
