Village councillor resigns

A parish councillor has resigned after a disagreement.

Councillor Betty Attard stepped down from Bovingdon Parish Council but declined to elaborate on her reasons.

She simply said: "I didn't agree with what the council did."

Now the public can call for a by-election or the council can co-opt a member until the next local election in May 2011.

The council noted the resignation during a meeting on Monday, March 1.
