Tring Park student Tala Lee Turton has become the ninth Brit to win a place in the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.

The 16-year-old has been studying at Tring Park for the past five years on its music and dance scheme scholarship but she will now be flying off to Moscow in September to start her four year training course with the Bolshoi.

She is one of only nine people to be accepted in the ballet’s 239 year history and will have to learn Russian to be able to study there comfortably.

Tala, who lives in Barnsley, recently trained at The Bristol Russian Ballet School and picked up many of the skills she will be using in Russia.
