GRANNIES on motorised shopping trollies brought smiles to shoppers faces when they descend on Hemel Hempstead’s town centre.
The quirky act Granny Turismo was booked for Saturday by Specsavers in Marlowes to mark the store’s 17th year in the town.
Shop director Mervyn Marsh said: “We think it brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people’s faces in Hemel.
“They did a great job and we treated them to new glasses as part of their props, brought them lunch and made a fuss of them. I think they enjoyed it as much as we did.”
The duo did three shows between 11am and 3pm and donations were collected for homelessness charity DENS. It is expected to have raised more than £200.
