The big-screen version of musical Les Miserables is big news at the moment, but for the team at Vive D’Darte Victor Hugo’s epic tale of crime, punishment and redemption is so last year.

After acclaimed 2012 workshop productions of the famous story they’re moving on to a less famous, but equally challenging, project.

And budding performers aged 11 to 18 are invited to get involved in Noah The Musical, a show created at Tring’s Court Theatre a dozen years ago which has since toured the world and become a popular choice for ensemble productions.

There will be a two week workshop to develop the show at Kings Langley’s Rudolf Steiner School during the Easter break, and full-scale performances at the same venue in August.

First auditions will be held at 2pm on Sunday at the St Francis of Assisi church hall in Glenview Gardens, Boxmoor.

Vivo D’Arte’s Jo Penniston said: “April’s two week course will involve a rigorous rehearsal schedule .

“We believe young people are capable of producing performances at the highest level. Our aim is to provide an experience which is not only fun but an opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing talents.”

As well as performance roles there limited number of places on technical courses for those who would like to learn new skills or further their knowledge.

Rachel Swaffield, the head at Berkhamsted’s Bridgewater Middle School, is a fan of the group’s work and said: “I can highly recommend the Easter workshops run by Vivo D’Arte – although a relatively new company it is made up of a collection of experienced professionals from the worlds of theatre and music with a heart for sharing their skills and talents with young people.”
