A West End star who competed in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit ITV show Superstar is bringing some glitz and glamour to a stage school as its new principal.
David Hunter has taken up the helm at Stagecoach theatre arts school in Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead.
He is one of the West End’s best known leading men, having reached the semi-finals of Superstar, before starring in the Olivier, Tony and Academy awarding winning musical Once.
His acting experience has seen him appear alongside James Corden in One Man, Two Guvnors at The National Theatre, while his singing career has led to him supporting The Feeling, Scouting For Girls and McFly on their full UK Arena Tour.
David said: “I’m excited to carry on the fantastic work already created at the school during its 15 year history. I’ll continue Stagecoach’s fine tradition of inspiring young people through the performing arts, providing crucial life skills and enormous fun throughout.”
Current principal Amanda Cawdron said: “David’s wonderful wealth of experience will help deliver even more expert teaching and guidance.”
On Saturday, April 18 Stagecoach is hosting a free open day for prospective students from 2.30pm to 4pm at Potten End School, Church Road.
