A woman was dragged along the road by a motorbike in a terrifying robbery in Tring

At around 12.20pm on Friday, May 26 the victim – a woman aged in her 50s – was walking along Miswell Lane when she was approached from behind and knocked to the ground by two people on a motorcycle.

The pillion passenger then grabbed the woman’s handbag and attempted to pull it from her. She kept hold of her handbag and during the struggle was dragged along the road before the offenders gave up and made off.

Detective Constable Paul Sammons, who is investigating, said: “This was a vicious and cowardly attack which left the victim shocked and shaken.

“She suffered injuries to her lower back and grazing to her left arm as a result of being knocked to the floor and being dragged along.

“At the time of the incident the offenders were wearing all black with balaclavas covering their faces. They were riding a black motorcycle, which had no registration plate, and they made off in the direction of Icknield Way.
