A woman in her 50s has died on the A41 following a crash between a car and scooter at the weekend.

Police are trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident, which took place on the dual carriageway at Bourne End at around 9.15pm on Saturday.

This is a tragic incident where a woman has sadly lost her life and our thoughts are with her friends and family at this time.

The woman, from Beaconsfield in Bucks, died at the scene when a blue Ford Fiesta collided with a grey and black Yamaha scooter.

The car driver was not injured.

PC Bob Hauxwell, investigating, said: “This is a tragic incident where a woman has sadly lost her life and our thoughts are with her friends and family at this time.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the vehicles before the collision, or saw the collision itself take place, to get in contact as soon possible.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and information and people are urged to contact PC Hauxwell using the police non-emergency number 101.
