SUPPORTIVE people with a few hours a week to spare are needed to join the team at Headway Hertfordshire.

The good cause is looking for understanding and enthusiastic individuals to take on the role of a befriending volunteer.

The right person must have a driving licence and car along with patience and good social and listening skills.

They will be spending time with those who have suffered a brain injury and are socially isolated, offering them help in achieving their goals.

> A jolly marvellous person, with general people and management skills is needed to step into the shoes of a house chairman for the Abbeyfield, Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Society.

The individual will be required to manage the running of sheltered accommodation for elderly residents in Dacorum.

> A happy shop assistant is needed to join the team at the British Heart Foundation.

The shop in Marlowes, Hemel Hempstead, requires volunteers for various days and hours throughout the week.

Duties include sorting new donations, welcoming customers, keeping the shop clean and tidy and helping out with fundraising.

> The Herts Domestic Violence Helpline needs volunteers to give a minimum of an hour a week.

Helpers will answer calls from their own homes through a call divert system.

Training and regular support meeting will be provided.
