Christmas is a special time for the family – and if you think you’ve got a special family, here’s an unusual opportunity to preserve it for posterity.
Budding Marys and Josephs are being invited to try their hand posing as stars of the nativity during the Tring Christmas Festival.
At the ‘stable’ outside High Street Baptist Church children and adults can choose a costume for photographs which can then be downloaded for free and turned into Christmas cards.
Last year’s images included shepherds, wise men and even a few families with babies in swaddling clothes in the Jesus role.
“This is a great way to show people that think church is a bit stuffy, to young and old, to everyone, that we’re here and we’re a welcoming, friendly church,” said church deacon Hannah Asquith.
“Last year lots of people said it was really nice to have a reminder of what Christmas is really about on the high street.”
After the snaps are taken aspiring nativity scene characters receive a password for a website where the photographs will be available to download the next day.
The Get In The Picture promotion will be is open from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday.
