A contingent of hardy Tring Running Club members competed in the famously wet and muddy Hardwick X-Stream race.

The aptly-named 10k run takes runners through a series of streams, with a roping system to help runners through the water and out the other side.

Greg O’Callaghan was first home for Tring in an excellent eighth place, with Alison Harding first back for the Tring ladies and coming first in her category.

In the team races, the Tring ladies team finished 2nd overall, with the men taking third place.

The full list of Tring runners was: O’Callaghan (eighth), Simon Barnett (20th), Trevor Lark (27th), Tom Sawyer (53rd), Paul Cowan (65th), Peter Alford (90th), Harding (93rd), Nigel Kippax (101st), Geoff Head (111th), Jeremy Pugh (116th), David Sawyer (122nd), Tom Hallett (123rd), Brian Layton (128th), Colin Jeffs (157th), Michaela Colwell (160th), Alice Ely (177th), Jane Porteous (179th), Peter Hamson (193rd), Richard White (209th), Cathy Court (221st), Jane Mitchell (229th), Virginia Sheffield (238th), Simon Jessop (257th), and Amber Jessopp (258th).
