A day of charity play
Badminton
GADEBRIDGE Junior Badminton Club is set to host a badminton marathon to raise money for charity.
The event will run for 24 hours from 7pm on Friday, April 13 to 7pm on Saturday, April 14 and money raised will to towards Cancer Research UK and the club .
Gazette sports reporter Adam Hull will be taking part, and the club is hopeful of a good turnout. Participants are welcome to join in for the whole 24 hours, or players can dip in and out according to the time they can spare.
Anyone wishing to play with a group of friends can pre-book specific court space and time on a first come first served basis.
All ages and abilities are welcome to join in and a tuck shop, cake stall and barbecue will be on offer. Soft drinks and biscuits will be free, and there will also be a tombola.
Anybody interested in taking part simply needs to get as many sponsors and raise as much money as possible, with a prize going to the person who raises the most money.
Alternatively, players can simply make a £10 donation to the cause.
