Boxmoor darts help to get Herts racing

editorial image

The Boxmoor contingent played their part as the Hertfordshire darts team bounced back from two below-par performances to beat Suffolk 26-13 at the Shamrock Club.

Herts were languishing near the foot of the table following back-to-back defeats, but they moved away from the relegation places courtesy of this weekend’s important win.

After a 4-2 victory from the Ladies’ B team, Boxmoor’s Leigh Purkis was powerless to prevent the Suffolk Men’s B team from levelling the scores up.

On Sunday, with the overall scores locked at 9-9, Herts went back in front thanks to a 4-2 win for the Ladies’ A team.

It was left to the Men’s A team to wrap up the win, and they got the job done with the help of Boxmoor’s Steve Hartley who won his individual clash 3-2.
