Leverstock Green Ladies were beaten 2-1 at Brentwood Town in their ERWFL Premier Division clash.

There were chances for both sides in the first half, but it was Brentwood who finally made the breakthrough shortly before the interval with a fierce shot from Rachel Armstrong.

Three minutes into the second half there was a good chance for Leverstock when Natasha Sherriff put Nic Hollick through, but it was Brentwood who struck next to double their lead.

Andrea Bettridge pulled off a good save to turn a shot from Sophie Lovell round the post, but from the resulting corner a header found the back of the net to put the hosts 2-0 up after 57 minutes.

The game looked over, but Levy kept battling and pulled a goal back after 71 minutes when Natalie Burrows crossed to the far post and Gemma Coggins met it with an excellent header into the net.

Levy pressed hard in search of an equaliser, but Brentwood held on to claim the three points.
