Hemel Girls set a new club scoring record on their way to a third County Cup final in the last four years.
After a shaky start, understandable after a long lay off due to the weather, Hemel started to play their passing football and from that moment on there was only one winner.
Cally Salter started the rout with an excellent solo goal and clinical finish and shortly afterwards Ellen Salter doubled the lead with a well-deserved goal after completely taking the Hoddesdon right-back apart throughout the first half.
Sophie Kinley wasted no time after being moved from right-back to forward in scoring two further clinical close-range finishes and but for the post and crossbar the half-time scoreline could have been more than 4-0.
The second half was 40 minutes of complete Hemel dominance and further goals followed with Callie Waters scoring her first of the season – again well-deserved, after an excellent 80 minutes at left-back and left-midfield and also picking up the Player Of The Match award.
Hannah Ward scored her opening two goals of the season, Emma Wiseman smashed a long-range shot into the net and Cally Salter scored two more to complete her hat-trick and take her tally to 26 for the season.
Mia Hickey popped up with a goal after a hard-working performance and Mel Jones capped a great team performance with her second goal in as many matches.
This was an excellent display and means that for the third time in the last four seasons Hemel will face Harvesters in the County Cup Final – with the honours being even at one-a-piece so far.
