A hatrick from Lewis Hodgins and one a piece from Connor Heath and Callum Wakefield saw another win for Comets. Rickmansworth

Little Gaddesden Blues 3, Berkhamsted Raiders Greens 2
Sunday was local derby day at Ashridge as Little Gaddesden took on Berkhamsted Raiders.
There were early chances for both sides but after a goal-less first half, Gaddesden broke the deadlock. A loose ball in the Raiders box was finished off by Frankie O'Brien. That was followed by two more goals for Little Gaddesden, both scored by Jack Oakes, the first a spectacular shot from the half way line.
If Gaddesden thought that was the end of it, they were in for a shock. A fluent attack down the right wing from Raiders was well finished at the near post to pull one back and - with 5 minutes to go - Raiders scored again. There was some frantic nail-biting on the touchline but, to Gaddesden's relief, they held on for the 3-2 win. Little Gaddesden men of the match were Ed Hawkesworth and George Brandon.

Comets last league game this year turned out to be a hard fought game and probably their best performance.Watford got the game underway and were on the attack.Good tackling from comets defense eased the pressure and sent their midfield on a counter attack.Great passing from Matthew Kingdon and Charlie Turner put Mark Johnson through who narrowly missed the goal. Both teams played some great football with the action going end to end.The second half was just as exciting with both keepers kept busy.Connor O'shea and Jordan Allen kept Comets defense tight with Matthew Kingdon and Charlie Turner running from midfield to keep Watford busy.Three minutes from the end Watford broke through and scored.A second followed quickly bringing the game to an end.Another great performance from the whole team. Man of the match: Matthew Kingdon

A frustrated Comets worked hard and pushed their luck in a scrappy game against Watford Youth. Early chance went both ways but Josh Archer produced some good saves to keep the score level. Comets worked hard in the second half but relied on Michael Cregan and Alex Harris to keep Watford at bay. When all looked lost the ball broke kindly to Oran Swales who put Colm Parrott into a great position, and Colm delivered with a powerful strike past the Watford goalkeeper. Josh Archer deserved man of the match for some excellent saves.

Chipperfield Corinthians 3 v Heron 2
Details:
CHALLENGE CUP 3RD ROUND: It was obvious both teams wanted this equally to progress to the quarter final. Herons took the lead in the first half with two brillant goals and Chipperfield knew they had to reform and try harder and so TOM LONGBOTTOM scored one back for the Corinthians. The second half seemed to be continuous goal mouth scrammbles until DANNY ROBERTS suberb equaliser in the left hand corner of the goal brought them back into the game. With only a couple of minutes remaining and both teams giving their all, CHRISTIAN PANAYI's shot won the game. Chipperfields MoM went to SAM CLARKE for never giving up.
Tring Tigers (U13) bagged themselves a place in their League Cup final with a well deserved 5-0 away win to Watford Youth. (Sunday 29th March)
Whilst Watford made most of the possession on their home ground for the first 15 minutes, Tring defended well and managed to keep a clean sheet against some strong attacking moves but as the first half progressed, Tring found their feet and played well in attack as well as in defence and by half time saw the Tigers up 3-0 .
They continued to play with confidence in the second half and added a 2 further goals to win the match and to secure a place in their League Cup final which will be played on the 5th May.
Team manager Bob Winter was delighted with the result and said "The score didn't really reflect how hard and tricky the game was, but did reflect how well the boys played as a team".
The final will be against Chorleywood who won their place in the final with a 2-1 win against Berko Raiders White.
Tring Tigers will play a second cup match next weekend when they face Tornadoes Red in the semi final of the Challenge Cup.
"Getting to this position in two cup competitions is a testament to the hard work put in by the whole squad and the coaching staff" said Bob Winter.

Echoes Amber and London Colney took to the field knowing that this was a must win game if either team stood any chance of avoiding relegation from the White Division of the Watford Friendly League.
The game was played in good spirit considering the season both teams have endured. Echoes Amber took an early lead with Rory Roche bundling the ball over the line from close range. Echoes then settled and played the passing football that has been missing for a large part of the season. They were soon rewarded with a second goal from Zach Booth following a defence splitting pass from James Shaw. Halfway through the first half a penalty was awarded to Echoes and you could see the team spirit when Ross King was given the task of extending the lead even though he wouldn't have normally been first choice. Ross coolly slotted the penalty to extend Echoes lead and notched up his first goal of the season. Echoes then increased their lead to 4-0 shortly before half time through a second from Zach Booth. The second half saw no extra goals due to the man of the match performance from the London Colney goalkeeper.

A strange quarter final cup match which saw Comets win 7-0 with a hat trick from Dylan Aroyle and goals from Jack Evans, Mitchel Cole,JJ,and Joe Bennett. The game started slowly with Comets going into a 3-0 lead at half time without really excelling themselves.Chorleywood battled and tried in vain to breach the Comets defence. The second half saw Comets up their game and score four more goals a disjointed performance which seems churlish considering the score but compared to recent results and performances this game failed to live up to previous encounters.A good effort from Chorleywood who we wish luck to for the remainder of the season.Job done lads well done.

ACORN RAIDERS 4 Abbots Youth 1
Another cracking win for Acorn as they thumped Abbots 4-1 to stay top of the League effectively ending Abbots involvement in the race for the title. Acorn took an early lead through JOE PICTON after some fine build up play by SHAUN STEPHENS who also got his name on the scoresheet with a well taken effort. A momentary lapse of concentration allowed Abbots to pull one back but Acorn from the kick off went up and JOE PICTON again scored 2 preserve their two goal lead. Into the second half Acorn created more chances but failed to take them. Abbots pressed but never really threatened and JOE PICTON scored to claim his hat-trick after another lay off from the provider that is SHAUN STEPHENS. M.O.M. went to JACK COLLINS AND LEWIS GROOME who played outstandingly well in their positions. The whole team again made it very difficult to single anyone out as they all played extremely well. WELL DONE AND THANK YOU.
