West Herts League U9

Comets A Stars 1 Watford Town Youth Black 1

This was the crunch match, Comets needed a win or a draw to clinch the title and what better way to decide it than to play the only team

that has beaten them all season!. It didn't start good with Watford full on and with Comets unable to close them down the away side soon

went 1 ahead with a brilliant shot. The A Stars managed to soak up the pressure with some great defending from Kenny Parrott and Drew

Stonebank which saw the score 1-0 at half time. Comets came back well aware of the challenge ahead of them and played good football

with a strong midfield in the form of Lewis Hodgins, Blake Manning and Daniel Cain and with some lovely passes from Callum Wakefield and

Alfie Keogh. Comets were unlucky several times with shots just going wide or hitting the post, and were really putting their supporters

through it! Finally the goal came from Connor Heath and the crowd went wild. Nick Botton came on to shore up the defence and Freddie

Lippiatt stayed strong in goa. The tension was unbearable. Then the final whistle went, they had done it, won the league, scoring 60 goals and

only conceding 6. What a season! What a team! A big thanks also to Manager Micky Warwick and his assistant Lindsay Stonebank for all

their time and committment. Well Done Everyone.

West Herts U10 Yellow division

Little Gaddesden Blues 1, Everett Rovers 1

Honours were shared in this hard-fought league contest. Little Gaddesden scored first, with a well worked goal from Jack Oakes. Everett pulled one back with a close range effort just before half time. Both sides had chances in the second half but neither side could finish it off. Man of the match went to Little Gaddesden's keeper, Logan Mackie, who pulled off a couple of exceptional second half saves.

Berkhamsted Raiders 1 v Harpenden Colts 1

Raiders got a useful point against a strong Colts team with David Webb scoring the equaliser in the second half. Another good team performance from Raiders.

Message: ACORN RAIDERS 6 Hemel Celtic 3

Another step closer for Acorn as they won this fascinating game. Hemel took an early lead as Acorn were slack in their defending. Acorn eventually woke up and equalised through RICHARD ASIMBA. Acorn then took controla as they scored a further 3 goals courtesy of a HARRY SLADE strike and RICHARD ASIMBA completing his first half hat-trick Hemel Celtic stormed out of the blocks in the second half and pulled two goals back to reduce the defecit to 1 goal. Two further goals by RICHARD ASIMBA ensured Acorn stay on course for the League title with two games left. RICKY SCOTT was awarded Acorns M.O.M. with a very solid display at centre back. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE.

u14s challenge cup semi final

Result:

hemel aces 1 comets 3

Details:

The fourth time these two teams have met each other this season and there is normally very little between the teams.Comets who are normally slow starters came out of the blocks firing and after hitting the bar via a Mitchel cole effort Aaron Boyer kept his head and volleyed in to take the lead. After a clever run from Thomas Bagley who created some space for Mitchel to hit a pearler into the top corner.Aces responded with a fine effort of their own, so 2-1 at half time.Comets kept up their workrate and Mitchel Cole got his second after fine approach play from Dylan.Comets then seemed to sit back and allow aces alot of possession but thankfully the defence and keeper stood firm to ensure another cup final berth.well done lads nearly there

Watford Friendly League - Under 18's

Chipperfield moved to within touching distance of winning the league following a comprehensive victory against Chorleywood. Playing into a strong breeze Alex Poole headed home and Josh Underwood struck home a rocket from 30 yards before Marcus Tower scored the third. The second half saw Craig Redgwell head home from a corner before Chorleywood pulled one back. There was still time for Tristan Dicker to round off the scoring to complete a 5-1 victory. Chipperfield now need 2 points from their final two games to win the league.
