COMETS Sports Club will be celebrating one of their most successful ever seasons as they hold their annual presentation evening at Longdean School on Saturday.
This season’s honours include a number of impressive league and cup performances, such as an impressive double from Nic Hodgins’ U9 Blues side.
The U9 Rangers also won their league, as did the rejuvenated U12 Lions – who looked in danger of folding at this time last year.
Elsewhere, the U15 Dolphins completed a league and cup double, the U17 Spartans have a league final to look forward to, and the senior side won the Berkhamsted Sunday Football League Premier Division.
As well as these success stories, the club will be celebrating the continuation of its Special Needs Squad – who play in the Herts FA Inclusive Football League – and cheering the U9 girls team who have had a season to remember in the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League.
All of the club’s players will be presented with their medals, and individual trophies are given to the Most Improved Player, Players’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Year.
Entertainment for the evening includes a DJ, a football quiz, a raffle and an auction of promises, as well as the traditional barbecue and a bar.
Local businesses have donated some special prizes, and both Watford FC and Arsenal FC have provided some signed goodies. The evening gets under way at 6.30pm.
