Haringey Borough 0 Berkhamsted 1

Berkhamsted got through to the next round by winning their FA Cup tie with striker Tony Burnett scoring the only goal of the game midway through the first half on a scorching hot day in London.

Fellow Premier division side Haringey started quite brightly and with good passing sometimes seemed to have a man over on the wings to test the Comrades’ full backs in the first half.

However, they got no change out of the Carmichael brothers at centre back, with Mark Welling mopping up in front of them. Ed Farmer did not have a real save to make all afternoon, but he did have to collect a few corners and free kicks.

Berko took the lead against the run of play with Burnett, as in the last round, bringing a ball down and smashing a fine shot past Damos Horvath from 18 yards out.

Berko will be away yet again (for the third consecutive FA Cup round) when they will travel to St Albans City on Saturday, September 17, to face a team two divisions above them in the non-league pyramid.
