Berkhamsted made it through to the second round of the FA Vase with a 2-0 win over Hadley in the first round replay at Broadwater.

After drawing 4-4 in an action-packed clash on Sunday, the sides did battle again just two days later – and this time Berko got the job done to book their place in the next round.

Comrades manager Mick Vipond had stressed the need for his side to tighten up at the back, and they did just that as they kept their first clean sheet in five games.

Lewis Pritchard put Berko in front, and the win was made sure by substitute Lawrence Bunker.

The victory sets up a home clash with Southend Manor in the second round on Saturday, November 17.

Next up for Berko is a league fixture against Hatfield Town at Broadwater, kick-off 3pm.

The Comrades currently sit in 10th position in the MSSML Premier Division table, while Hatfield are struggling in 18th place.
