KINGS Langley slumped to their second home defeat in the space of five days as they were comfortably beaten by Ampthill Town.
To make things worse for the home side, playmaker Sam Warrell came off injured after just 10 minutes, and looks likely to be out of action for the foreseeable future.
It was Kings who had made the early running, with a superb acrobatic overhead shot by Brett Kelly bringing an equally impressive save from Ampthill keeper Jamie Bewick.
However slack marking at a corner allowed Tyrone Taylor to put Town ahead and, on the stroke of half time, Kings were denied what looked like clear-cut a penalty when Jack Johnson was brought down in the area.
From then on, Ampthill looked in control and substitute Paul Ericsson put the visitors further ahead with virtually his first touch of the ball .
Kings keeper Kevin Marsh was forced into some fine saves as the game went on, and Langley – with Jimmy Armstrong becoming increasingly isolated up front – seemingly ran out of ideas.
