Berkhamsted reserves climbed to the summit of the Suburban North Division with a comprehensive 6-0 midweek win over Dacorum rivals Leverstock Green Reserves.

Ashley Morrissey, who has had a spell on the bench for the first team lately, welcomed his chance to impress from the start and grabbed a hat-trick.

Jay Caines also scored in the first half and provided a fine cross for a net breaking volley for Tommy Twelves, before Alex Foster completed the rout.

On Saturday, with the first team out of the FA Cup, Joe Sweeney’s squad was again boosted by players in need of action after bench duty.

Morrissey scored another couple and Adiel Mannion was on the mark, too, in a 3-1 win at home to league newcomers Binfield.
