Dynamic duo return to Watford Ladies

Watford Ladies have confirmed the double signing of former players Emma Beckett and Josie Green as they return for second spells with the club.

Welsh international midfielder Green returns after a year away at Manchester City Ladies, where she helped the club achieve promotion to the Women’s National Premier League for the first time in their history.

The teenager, who was this week called up by the Wales senior squad for their friendly against Belgium, said: “I think the club has changed a lot since the last time I was here.

“There is a very good atmosphere and team spirit amongst all the players and staff, and they are all working hard towards the start of the season.

“I’m really looking forward to getting on the (Broadwater) pitch and playing.”

Beckett, a former member of Watford’s Centre of Excellence, returns to the club from fellow National Premier League side Charlton Athletic.

She said: “I think Watford has a team cohesion which, in this league, is rivalled by few and this is a big development since being at the club previously.

“The club seems to be more professional, yet still offers a great atmosphere throughout.

“I experienced some great times with Watford and hope to add to those times this season and in the future.”
