Eight-goal Flaunden run riot in the BSFL Steve Norwood Challenge Cup

There were goals galore on Sunday as a number of BSFL teams battled it out in the third round of the Steve Norwood Challenge Cup.

Flaunden led the way with an 8-0 win at Woodhall Wanderers as Ben Gillard hit a hat-trick and Chazi Hokuza, Josh Hutchinson-Kemal, Matt Dean, Graham Fayers and Ed Canham completed the rout.

Hemel Hempstead Corinthians went through after a 6-1 victory at Apsley Athletic thanks to goals from Paul Hunt (2), Michael Dance, Craig Sharples and Alex Kinsley, while AFC Boars beat Berko Tornadoes by the same scoreline.

Curtis Donaldson bagged a hat-trick, Sonny French scored two, and Jay Austin was also on target.

Park Rangers saw off Echoes 4-0 with strikes from Lee Franklin, Chris Parperi, Mark Hewitt and Ryan Lockley, while Hemel United defeated Hemel Athletic 5-2 thanks to Jason Ivory (2), Lee Simper, Kevin Price and an own goal.

Connor Calcutt fired in a hat-trick and Josh Chamberlain was also on target in VFC’s 4-1 win at Leather Bottle, and a solitary Josh Connolly effort was enough for The Bull Athletic to go through at the expense of Jam United.

The biggest shock of the round came from Division Four’s Greenacres II as they beat Division One side Doves United 3-0 with goals from Mark Crampton (2) and Scott Webster.

In league action, meanwhile, Comets Sports Club led the way in Division One with a 12-1 trouncing of Boxmoor.

Tom Hardy scored five goals, with Paul Hanafan and Ray Wood netting hat-tricks and Alfie Mullan also getting in on the action.

Old Grey Mare thrashed Robin Hood 6-1 with efforts from Wilf Whittaker (2), Tom Colclough (2), Andy Copeland and Pete Lofty, while two goals from Craig Anscombe and one from Mat Bunce earned Berko Athletic a 3-2 win over Boca Seniors.

In Division Two, FC Intervino were the biggest winners as they ran out 6-1 victors at Berko Tornadoes Reserves. Jake Hosier (3), Brad Hedges (2) and Michael Norman did the damage.

AC Grapes added three points to their tally with a 3-2 win at Landrovers thanks to Chris Wheals, Justin Seymour and Chris Gillard, while The Midland drew 3-3 with The Queens Head.

Dave Wilson (2), and Tom Klymikiw were the goalscorers for The Midland, with Ben Osborn, David Ellis and Dan Buckingham replying for The Queens Head.

Elsewhere, Potten End Sunday beat The Three Tuns 3-0 in Division Three as Ryan Walsh (2) and Matthew Lowman got on the scoresheet.

Envirologistics had Dan Smethers, Alex Groom, Jack Sunderland and Tommy North to thank for a 4-2 win at Echoes Reserves, while the other two games in the division were drawn.

Adeyfield and Clarkwood shared six goals in a 3-3 stalemate, while Palace versus RH Motors finished 2-2.

Dvision Four saw Sporting Blackbirds beat The Old Bell Gate 3-1 with efforts from Chris Sykes, Matt O’Kelly and Gareth Evans, while Jeff Duncombe hit the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for Berko Athletic Reserves at Olde Kings Arms.

AC Grapes Reserves were also victorious, seeing off Old Bell Athletic 2-1 courtesy of goals from Jake Mepham and Mike Pettingale.

AFC Old Bell Gate and Adeyfield Reserves shared an entertaining 3-3 draw, with Neil Hollick (2) and Jay Hampstead scoring for AFC and Scott Bangerte, Will McLean and Aaron Honey netting for Adeyfield.
