Four-point haul for Comrades reserve side

FOOTBALL: It was a good week for Berkhamsted Reserves as they doubled their points tally for the season with an away draw and a home win.

On Wednesday night they drew 3-3 with table-topping Barton Rovers, before seeing off bottom side Hartley Wintney 3-2 on Saturday.

Scott McPherson, Rowan Taylor and a trialist gave Berko a three-goal cushion against Barton, but the hosts showed why they are top of the league by staging a spirited second half fightback.

The Comrades didn’t let that disappointment affect them, though, as they secured a much-needed win over Harltley Wintney.

A quickfire Taylor brace and a fierce strike from Micky O’Farrell did the damage.
