The Dacorum District U11 Football Team ventured to Madrid over the half term holidays on their end of season football tour.
A group of 14 boys and three adults made the journey from Dacorum to Madrid, for a week of sunshine, tapas and theme parks.
A real highlight for the boys was the trip to Madrid’s biggest theme park, Parque de Attracciones, where competition arose among the team on who was willing to brave the most extreme rides.
However, undoubtedly the main attraction for the boys was the visit to the Santiago Bernabeú, the stadium of Real Madrid Football Club.
The Bernabeú is home to an array of the world’s best players, such as Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Spain’s own Xabi Alonso.
The Dacorum District Goalkeeper said, “Visiting the Bernabeú was inspiring, it was amazing to go to a stadium where so many great players have played.”
This trip came off the back of an extremely rewarding season for the team, winning both the Herts Inter-District eleven and seven a side competitions.
Co-manager Stuart Stedman said, “we’ve had a really successful season and going on tour to Madrid was the perfect way to finish off the season. The boys deserved a good break away.”
So it appears that this tour to Madrid will be an experience that the boys of Dacorum District will remember for a long time to come.
