Now is the time to nominate your Hertfordshire football hero for the 2014 Herts FA County Awards.
The awards aim to recognise and reward grassroots clubs, coaches and volunteers across the country, and the Hertfordshire FA is calling on people to nominate an individual for their commitment and achievements in the last 12 months.
Winners will be announced at a gala awards evening, which will be held at Sopwell House in St Albans on Wednesday, June 4.
Nick Perchard, chief executive of the Hertfordshire FA, said: “Grassroots football is at the heart of the national game, and every week across the county people dedicate their time and energy to provide a professional, fun and rewarding football experience for the local community.
“The awards are a great opportunity to reward these people, who are the life-blood of football in Hertfordshire.
“The stories we heard from last year’s winners were really inspiring, and I have no doubt that this year we will have another fantastic crop of nominees.”
Seven of the eight award categories fall under the banner of the FA Community Awards, meaning the winners will be put forward for regional awards. From there they can be nominated to receive a national Community Award.
There will also be long-service awards for volunteers who have served Hertfordshire football for 25, 40 or 50 years.
