Kings Langley Ladies returned to winning ways in the league as they came out on top in a high-scoring encounter with Arlesey Town Ladies Reserves.

Amy Earthrowl nabbed her first hat-trick, showing top predatory skills, with the Arlesey keeper unable to hold onto shots fired in from Kim Nield, Nicole Barrett and Mary Hogan.

Sam Walters started the goal-rush in only the fifth minute, pouncing on a loose ball after Nield’s inital shot was parried.

Nield then grabbed two goals of her own, as did Barrett, while Jade North and Meg Burrows also saw efforts go close.

Two goals in two minutes after the restart saw Kings take a 6-2 lead, before the visitors rallied back.

Arlesey – who fielded a number of first team players – worked tireless to reduce the deficit, but whenever they did breach Kelsea Layer’s goal, Kings rolled up their sleeves and quickly re-established the lead.

In a match full of positives, Katie Nield made her debut for Kings, coming off the bench at half-time.

Kings entertain Cranfield United LFC this Sunday at Jarman Park running track, kick-off 2pm.
