Hot-shot forward Katie Knell has become the latest player to sign up for Watford Ladies in time for the start of the new season.

The striker will be no stranger to the club, having spent the previous two seasons with the Golden Girls.

She made 15 appearances for the Berkhamsted-based first team last season before heading off for a spell in America.

After her time abroad, Knell says she can’t wait to return to action for Watford.

“I enjoyed it and learnt a lot in America but it just wasn’t for me,” she said. “I’m very pleased to be back, I love it at Watford.”

The former Arsenal youngster believes the squad has a great chance of success this season.

“I think we can do really well,” she said.

“We’ve got a very strong squad, from the centre-backs all the way through to the strikers.”

And first team Manager John Salomon says he is excited to be working with Knell again.

He said: “We’re really pleased to have Katie back as a Watford Ladies player.

“Katie has grown from her experience in America and, having worked with her for the past two years, I’m looking forward to seeing her continued progression into first team football.”
