TRING Athletic bounced back to form with a good win at Hatfield Town.
After two successive losses, goals from Ryan Redford, Tony Fields and captain Graham Hall secured an important 3-0 win for Phil Casserley’s side.
Athletic should have been behind early on, after Hatfield were awarded a penalty following a foul by Tony Fields. But for the second week running, Tring goalkeeper Tom Vincent saved the spot-kick.
Both sides looked threatening, but neither could make the important breakthrough until Ryan Redford broke the deadlock after 38 minutes.
Ashley Addison’s header caught the Hatfield defence cold, and Redford latched onto the ball to fire home.
Athletic were buoyed by the goal and doubled their tally three minutes before half-time.
Redford squared the ball to David Whicker and, after his shot was saved, Fields slotted home.
Hatfield should have pulled a goal back, but it was Tring who netted again soon after the interval.
Ashley Addison whipped in a corner, and captain Graham Hall was on hand to score with a superb bicycle kick to seal the win.
Casserley said: “We approached the game with the right attitude and were the best team throughout.
“Hopefully we can push on from here.”
