Northwood 2
 Hemel Hempstead Town 1

Northwood became the third lower league club to dump Hemel out of cup competitions this season as they beat the Tudors 2-1 at Northwood Park Stadium.

It was a spirited performance from Northwood, who had a bit more about them as the Tudors failed to rally with a somewhat weakened Red Insure Cup squad.

Regulars Matt Nolan, Danny May, Peter Holmes, Alex Campana, Kyle Anthony and new signing Phil Anderson were missing for Hemel, while Stephen O’Leary took to the bench alongside Mark Osborn and a number of academy players.

Hemel had plenty of chances in front of goal but could not find the net – with an own goal from former Tudor Brad Hewitt all they had to show for their efforts.

With all of the major cup competitions now out of the way, the Tudors can fully concentrate on maintaining their league title challenge.

Hemel travel to Arlesey Town on Saturday, looking to extend their four-point cushion at the top of the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division table.
