HEMEL Town saw off Tring Athletic in the clubs’ first competitive fixture of the season.
A Louis Toomey hat-trick set Town on their way to the win, with Elliott Osborne-Ricketts adding a fourth goal late on to seal the side’s progression to the next round of the Herts Charity Cup.
Tring had beaten Hemel in April, but a much-changed Athetic side went behind after just two minutes.
Hosts Tring failed to deal with a corner from Louis Stead, and Toomey was on hand to finish from close range.
From then on, Hemel took control of the game, and Toomey completed his hat-trick with goals either side of half-time.
Town wrapped up the win after 86 minutes when Osborne-Rickets fired home from outside the box.
