Westfield Ladies 7 Hemel Town Ladies 1
AFTER an impressive start to the game, things went downhill very quickly for the Hemel Ladies as they were on the wrong end of a 7-1 thumping.
Suzy Read opened the scoring as she pounced after 10 minutes, and the Tudors had a goal disallowed a few minutes later as they took the game to their opponents from the off.
However, 20 minutes later it all started to go wrong for Hemel as Westfield equalised, then quickly added a second.
And just two minutes later, the Tudors’ Katie Grossmith was shown a red card following a bad tackle which resulted in a third goal from the free-kick.
Down to 10 players, the second half was always going to be a struggle for Hemel, and that is how it proved to be.
Westfield hit the net four more times to wrap up the win, in a game which the Tudors will want to forget about quickly.
The defeat leaves Hemel in mid-table in the London and South East Regional League Premier Division, eight points adrift of table-topping Eastbourne.
As Dacorum’s sole survivors in the FA Cup, the ladies travel to Essex next week to take on Basildon in the third qualifying round of the competition.
