HEMEL Town Ladies made it two victories out of two at the start of the new campaign as they thrashed East Preston 4-1 on Sunday.
Mickey Taylor opened the scoring for newly-promoted Hemel after 33 minutes, however Preston hit back against the run of play with an equaliser five minutes before half-time.
It did not take Town long to restore the lead, though, as captain Kayleigh Baker lashed home just two minutes later.
And Baker added her second goal of the game one minute after the interval with another crisp, long range strike to double the Hemel advantage.
Hemel went onto to dominate proceedings, but could only manage one more goal courtesy of Charlene Turturici’s right-footed strike.
Town manager Steve Wooding was pleased with the performance but insists his players will not get ahead of themselves after their flying start to the season.
“We are not going to get carried away with these two victories,” he said. “We have a long way to go and I’m sure the opposition are going to get tougher.”
