Leverstock Green 3 Hillingdon Borough 1
Two goals from in-form Adiel Mannion and a thunderbolt from James Dabbs were enough for Leverstock Green to see off Hillingdon at Pancake Lane.
The first half was an even affair, although Green came close in the first minute through Jamie Davidge.
Levy keeper Tom Coulton – named the club’s Player of the Month for February – was brought into action in the 26th minute, turning a shot round the post before saving with his legs soon afterwards.
However, a well-worked goal put Leverstock into the lead after 39 minutes. Dabbs passed to Kris Tyrell, who got to the bye-line before putting in a low cross which Mannion turned into the net from close range.
And it was Mannion who doubled his side’s lead shortly after half-time. Chris Cutler’s pass the speedy forward through on goal, and he rounded the keeper and slotted home neatly for a 2-0 Leverstock lead.
Dabbs saw a 57th-minute effort crash back off the bar, but he was not to be denied and lashed in a scorching drive 12 minutes later to increase the Levy lead.
Hillingdon responded to make it 3-1, but a late penalty save from Coulton ensured Levy held on for the deserved three points.
